The Six City Strategy received an award from the International Board of Entrepreneurs & Business People

The chair of the management group, Juha Ala-Mursula from BusinessOulu, and the chair of the steering group, Päivi Sutinen from the City of Espoo, accepted the award on behalf of the Six City Strategy.

The International Board of Entrepreneurs & Business People (ENTREPS) has given an award to the Six City Strategy (6Aika) for exemplary work in urban development. Entreps annually rewards the best practices, initiatives, people and achievement, as well as innovative companies and communities who deserve global recognition for their actions. The awards were presented in Brussels on 18 June.
Previously, the awards have been given to the former President of the United States Bill Clinton, the former President of Mexico Vicente Fox, entrepreneur Madi Sharma, and Harvard Business School. The award has been given also to Markku Markkula, the First Vice-President of the European Committee of the Regions.
In 2018, there were 30 award categories. The Six City Strategy received an award in the “Sustainable Cities and Communities – Smart Cities” category. With the awards, Entreps supports the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Out of the 30 categories, 17 are in accordance with the UN’s goals for sustainable development.
In February, the EU selected the Six City Strategy as Finland’s flagship project for the 30th anniversary of the EU’s cohesion policy.
