The CircHubs (Circular Economy Centres of the Future) project focuses on developing the circular economy centres of the Six Cities. The aim is to seek new business and business models in the areas as well as establish new partnerships and new types of cooperation. Furthermore, the aim is to support the commercialisation of innovations related to circular economy.
In Tampere, the project’s development sites are the Hiedanranta area, the planning principles of which are based on smart and sustainable urban development, as well as the business areas of Kolmenkulma and Tarastenjärvi. The project’s other development sites are Ekomo in the Helsinki region, Topinpuisto in Turku and Ruskoniitty in Oulu.
The lead partner of the CircHubs project is Business Tampere. The project partners include the Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority HSY, the Finnish Environment Institute SYKE, Lounais-Suomen Jätehuolto, Turku University of Applied Science, TTY Foundation, Oulun Jätehuolto and EcoFellows. The project will be carried out between 1 May 2017 and 30 September 2019 and its budget is EUR 2 206 165.
